Trojan still remains the favorite condom in American because of the genius of Merle Young and the way that he marketed what he had to offer (Koerner, 2006). Enhancing pleasure is nice, but reliability is what people look for in their condoms and what they need, especially with some diseases on the rise as well as unwanted pregnancies among some groups, like teen girls (Safe, 2008). The Trojan brand has basically become synonymous with condoms in general, and once that happens it is very likely that the brand will continue to remain strong and important in the minds of consumers.
